Dr Andrew Gibson tutors physics, chemistry and maths to your children throughout GCSE and A-levels. All his lessons are given through Zoom, letting your child learn from the comfort of their home. He focuses on exam techniques to make sure your child receives the best grades possible. As a fully qualified physics teacher, he can provide your child with the best quality of teaching and advice. Many previous pupils have reviewed him as the best tutor they have had, proving his skills.

He offers 10 lessons for £500 or individual lessons starting from £55 per hour.

Andrew has taught our Daughter for the last 2 years of her GCSE - he has offered support in Maths, Physics and Chemistry, he has an engaging, positive and supportive style to his tuition, that brings out a real love of the subjects. He provides tailored follow up materials for lessons to provide additional support outside the sessions . He tailors his lessons to suit the needs she has that week. Is always flexible in being able to provide lesson slots when we need to change our regular slot. He is extremely reliable. She achieved very good GCSE grades in her recent examinations and having Andrew's support played a huge part in these grades. We will be continuing to have lessons with Andrew throughout her A Levels, which we think is the best recommendation we can provide :-)

Physics used to be my least favourite subject and in year 12 I got a D in my exams. The only way I had passed my GCSE’s was from memorising facts rather than understanding them. Now at the end of year 13 (having achieved A*’s in physics, chemistry and biology) physics is my favourite subject. This is because Andy helped me understand physics, meaning I wasn’t just memorising physics laws, I understood them and could therefore apply them to any question asked. He did this through clear diagrams, examples and analogies that were impossible to forget so stuck with me during exams. Understanding physics made it exciting as Andy would tell you how the things you learn about apply to the real world making physics come alive. Andy also helped me with Chemistry and maths questions (statistics within biology) as well as preparing for Cambridge’s NSAA exam. When it was exam season Andy made it clear he would try his best to accommodate any last minute physics sessions if needed, I took him up on this offer many times. Even just before going into an exam I texted him a question and I got an instant response, this last minute help made me feel a lot more confident and calm going into the exams. Andy is very easy to talk to and makes physics interesting. Having the tutoring online was extremely helpful, as I was able to paste questions onto the bit paper website as I came across them, so they were ready for my next session, rather than being forgotten. It also meant I could look over the past work we did together at any time from anywhere, I would often look back over work on my phone when getting the bus to school. The most valuable thing I gained from having Andy as my tutor wasn’t just getting good grades, it was the passion for physics that I developed, for this I will be forever grateful and can’t recommend Andy as a tutor enough.

My son Josh hugely benefited from online tutoring mainly in GCSE physics and also later with some difficult areas in Chemisty. He found Andrew both engaging and enthusiastic and found his explanations easy to understand particularly when problems were applied to real life situations. Within 3 months of receiving tutoring Josh became increasingly confident in Physics and went onto to get an excellent result in his exams at the end of the year. I would highly recommend this tutor.

My daughter was tutored by Andy throughout her A levels for physics. Andy helped my daughter to significantly improve her overall grade alongside providing much support with both homework and tests. Andy’s support proved invaluable during the pandemic and we are all agreed that we could not have hoped for a better tutor !
